Sri Narayana Guru’s Doctrine;
‘Unite that you can be strong, Educate that you can be free’ are being followed and practiced in the right sense of the word by Jaya Suvarna. After getting fully involved in the hotel business and settling well in life Jaya Suvarna has taken up the task of educating the poor and the needy. He started with a small beginning by contributing to his Alma Mater at Adve village near Mulky.
Thereafter it was just march forward.
Whenever people from his native Adve approach him he was always ready and happy to help them. And that is why ‘Jayanna’ is very near to their hearts.
If Mulky he became the Vice-President of Lalita R. Salian Trust. And later he became the President of the same. His dedication and involvement in improving the school infrastructure was genuinely great. Later he also started Sri Narayana Guru English medium school and rightfully became the founder President. He along with Rukka Rama Salian succeeded in getting a place for the school.
Initially they built the school with 12 fully furnished class rooms. All the required chairs and benches for the school were provided and soon it was acclaimed as a model school in the vicinity.
The school was growing in popularity, but as bad luck might have it Sri Rukka Rama Salian left for heavenly abode. This unfortunate event shook Jaya Suvarna initially.
But a bold Jaya Suvarna put up a brave face and continued the work taken up during the time of Rukka Rama Salian. Jaya Suvarna took up the challenge and built another 20 class rooms. With his unstinted zeal for results and with his idea of introducing innovative ideas into school administration he soon made the -school as a ‘model school’. The local population liked the way the school was being run and
requested Jaya Suvarna for a Junior College.
The school has a full fledged library. Jaya Suvarna left no stone unturned in converting the school into a fully equipped one. He completed the school construction within the stipulated time. He was instrumental in bringing up the Junior College too.
Likewise he also set up a progressive path in converting the school run by the Billawar Association into a model institution in Bannanje. Besides this he has also organised massive scholarships to deserving children. It is also necessary here to mention that he literally gave new life to a school which was on the verge of. being closed for want of funds. Members of the school committee approached him and he welcomed them with open arms. He promised them all possible help. Back in Mumbai he explained the Billawar Association members about the dire necessity of funding: the school. Members wholeheartedly welcomed his suggestions and came forward to donate their might.
The cause was genuine and the response of the members was overwhelmingly spontaneous. A beautiful building was constructed. As per the request of the local people the school was made into an English Medium School.
It is the desire of all the Billawas to have their own Engineering and Medical Colleges.
One only hopes that the day of realising this dream may not be far off. When Suvarna (Golden) lays his hands then Jaya (Victory) is not far off. All of us should pray for the same to happen earlier than later.
